'Fight Pollution' Campaign was flagged off from Hyatt Hotel in Chandigarh with Mr. Ashok Khetrapal, Chairman of Haryana State Pollution Control Board as the chief guest. Mr. Khetrapal said, "Avad India's initiative is very encouraging as a lot needs to be done in this area. One of the biggest issues faced today is plastic pollution and we would be happy to provide any support required". Mr. RK Chauhan, Joint Director, Environment Department Haryana and Mr. Rajiv Prasad, Joint Director, Secondary Education, Haryana, were the esteemed guests of honour.
Due to ever increasing plastic pollution which has entered in our food chain through salt and fish, we felt compelled to start an initiative like this. Through the campaign, students were made aware about the devastating impact of plastic on our environment and health. They were also taught about making bags from old newspaper and cloth.
